Notation/Transcription Software…
For every level of experience, scoring packages appeal to the music
student on a budget while having enough powerful features to satisfy
them as they score a serious thesis film or write a student opera. These
programs allow users to realize their compositions for traditional instruments,
archive their music in a format recognizable to musicians around the
world, and learn a great deal about notation in the process. Related
to notation programs are transcription programs. This software can convert
either scanned sheet music or real audio performance into MIDI files
that can share with notation, sequencing, and other programs. Many of
these products also support MIDI playback, sequencing and other features
useful to teachers and students.
MIDI/Audio Sequencers…
Just as MIDI sequencers introduced support for digital audio features,
they are now incorporating increasing support for scoring and printing.
Their ability to edit, arrange, and combine both MIDI and Audio tracks
has improved significantly in the last few years. The editing features
have become more sophisticated to the point where the lines between
MIDI, Audio, and Notation have begun to blur. All of these features
are a great help to both the student, learning composition or a particular
instrument, and the band director or music instructor, wanting to demonstrate
a musical point with a full electronic ensemble.
Stereo Editing & Multitrack Recording…
The ability to manipulate, combine, and create digital audio directly
on your PC has changed the way we do music forever. CD-quality recordings
can be made that approach the quality that the professionals have gotten
for years in expensive studios. With this software, students can learn
about special effects like reverb, etc., and discover what happens to
sounds when they are layered in two or more tracks together. Digital
editing programs come into their own when combined with a high quality
digital sound card and a CD-R recorder, letting the student stay digital
all the way to the finished product.
Ear Training/Learn to Play/Children/Family…
For younger students to the more experienced musicians wanting to keep
up their listening "chops", ThinKware has the product to fill
the need. We have software that introduces children to basic musical

high quality audio cards are a great tool to use with Stereo Editing
& Multitrack Recording software. A good sound card can help students
with music homework, add exciting sound possibilities to computer games,
and provide synthesized sounds for their weekend garage band - all from
right inside their computer.
Keyboards & Other Music Hardware…
Keyboards are the undisputed basic educational instruments. Many college-level
music schools require students to take piano/keyboard, because the piano
is the best instrument for understanding traditional music theory. With
a portable electronic keyboard, music students can practice whenever
and wherever they wish by using headphones, can try out a new sequence
with their sequencing program, and can enter the parts for their new
composition by playing them from the keyboard. Built-in MIDI connections
